Milton H. Beckworth passed away in Orlando, Florida on November 8th, 2007. Milton was originally an Amphibious Scout before becoming an Instructor at each and every one of the Alamo Scouts Training Centers from Fergusson Island off New Guinea to Subic Bay on Luzon. 1LT Beckworth was there from the beginning to the end and contributed substantially to the success of the Scouts. Our condolences to the Beckworth family.

Major John H. Crichton, aide-de-camp to General Krueger, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on May 16th, 2007. Although John was not an Alamo Scout, he was a big supporter of the association and was involved with the Scouts during the war.

The Alamo Scouts community is deeply saddened by the passing of Zeke McConnell, who passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2007. For all who knew him, Zeke was a consummate gentleman who carried himself with class and dignity. He will long be remembered for his humility, keen sense of humor, and an infectious smile that could light up the darkest room. Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family for their loss.
Zeke was a graduate of the 3th class and served on the Littlefield Team.

Burial is Monday March 5 at Tahoma National Military Cemetery.

Alfred Alfonso passed away on September 11, 2006. Graduate of the 4th class and a member of the Rounsaville Team, Alfred was a participant on the Cabanatuan POW Camp raid. Opu, his teammates called him also served in Korea and Vietnam.

Earl G. Griffith passed away on August 11, 2006. He attended the 4th Training Class at Hollandia, but was recalled by his unit prior to graduation. In 1993, Earl hosted the Denver reunion. Those who knew Earl remember him as a true gentleman and one of the finest men they ever knew. Our hearts go out to his wife, Dee, and to the entire Griffith family.

Alamo Scout, Lee F. Watson passed away June 8, 2006 after a 2 year battle with multiple myloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. His family said he was so proud of his experience in the Alamo Scouts. Lee was retained from the 9th ASTC and assigned to the Williams Team.

Alamo Scout, Galen Kittleson passed away Thursday night, May 4th in his hometown of Toeterville, Iowa. Galen and Bob Sumner were co-founders of the Alamo Scouts Association. As a member of the Nellist Team, Galen was a participant on the Cabanatuan POW Camp raid. Galen who holds the distinction of being the only man in U.S. military history to participate in four POW liberation attempts in two wars. He will be missed by all of us that knew him. Our hearts go out to his wife, Darlene, and to the entire Kittleson family.

Alamo Scout, Sabas Asis passed away peacefully on the evening of March 10th at the VA Hospital in Seattle, WA.. As a member of the Nellist Team, Sabas was a participant on the Cabanatuan POW Camp raid. The Alamo Scouts send their condolences to the Asis families.

We just got word that a member of the Sumner Team passed away last May. Robert T. Schermerhorn passed away on May 22, 2005. Bob lived in Pomona Park Florida since the late 1960's. Bob never had contact with anybody from the association until Russ Blaise called to say hello in November of 2003.

The Alamo Scout community is saddened by the passing of Colonel Robert S. Sumner, Director of the Alamo Scouts Association, on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2004.  "Red" was the catalyst in creating and perpetuating the Association in 1980.  Under his energetic and articulate direction, the Association thrived and grew to include more than 60 members.  But more importantly, he was our friend.
